Rules from the BABY’s Book on Becoming a Billionaire
-
Rule #202: : If your business behavior and personal
ethics smell like shit, they are shit.
-
Rule #39: When you’re stumped, don’t be afraid to ask
your Uncle Harry. Even though he wouldn’t know an LED chip from a carburetor,
he might still be able to change a spark plug that might just solve your
problem.
-
Master your mantra: Turn your mission statement into a mantra that your
employees and clients will remember, advises Guy Kawasaki, renowned
author and managing director of Garage Technology Ventures.
-
The right “stuff” in the right seats: Suitability, not just eligibility,
ensures that the best person is hired, recommends Pamela Truax, a
chairwoman with Vistage International.
-
Only Scoundrels and Crooks Need Apply: Neil introduces the inaugural
class of the corporate “Hall of Shame.”
-
I’m NOT telling! Scared that sharing your business idea with others
might be counterproductive? “Au contraire”… it just might help you move more
quickly.

which looks to invest in entrepreneurial teams with big ideas and a need for
seed capital to turn their ideas into great companies. Garage is willing to
invest in unproven teams attacking unproven markets with unproven solutions.
They are not interested in teams that are creating the nth solution to the same
old problem nor companies who are trying to improve things by only 10 or 20
percent.
