Cracker Jack meets Big League Chew
-
In this week's Elevator Ride segment, entrepreneur Nik Souris explains
how OlliePop is bubbling throughout the skateboard industry and getting “huge
air” with youngsters by combining Cracker Jack's surprise inside with chewing
gum.
A Midwest transplant, Nik Souris, CEO, OlliePop has lived around the world, consulted
to big companies like 3M, Victoria's Secret, and Philip Morris before working
at small, start-up companies that became parts of bigger ones. Ollie Pop
bubblegum is created for today’s young skateboarder. It is packaged in pouches
with several surprises in every pack and is endorsed by top action sports
athletes.
Nik studied engineering and kicked footballs at Purdue before enlisting with
Andersen Consulting's Technology Group in their Chicago headquarters where he
got the chance to work with those big companies on their breakaway strategies
and database management systems. From there he passed on business school and
shifted into entrepreneurial ventures with the formation of customer management
applications including the creation of third party technical support, the early
development of customer relationship management and customer loyalty programs.
Over time Nik completed some executive education coursework at the Harvard
Business School and is active today in the evolution of online/mobile
communities and sports marketing with his consulting work at 4DCard, while
helping startups like Ollie Pop through his work at Capital Window. Nik also
serves as chairman of ClearCrossing, Inc. and as a board member of the
Millennium Woman Foundation.
