Jeffrey Strauss started as a bus boy in an Italian
restaurant in New Jersey. He worked his way up the restaurant ladders in the
United States, Italy and France and, in 1996, opened the
Pamplemousse Grille in Del Mar, California.
From intimate meals to huge formal banquets, Jeffrey is well-known for his
gastronomical flair. His prestigious corporate clients include Tiffany and Co.,
Disney Studios, Paine Webber, UNOCAL, 20th Century Fox, Neiman Marcus, Hermes,
Channel, Gucci, MCA, and Amblin Entertainment. He has prepared meals for such
dignitaries as President George W. Bush, the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis,
Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and the attendees of
Caroline Kennedy’s wedding and Ronald Reagan’s 1984 inaugural luncheon.
Entertainment luminaries who have enjoyed his cuisine include Aaron Spelling,
Tom Hanks, Elton John and Steven Spielberg. Pamplemousse has received numerous
awards including being rated the #1 restaurant by Zagat’s for three years in a
row.
Jim Anderson is the president of SVB Analytics, a
subsidiary of Silicon Valley Bank, which provides valuation services and other
solutions to emerging growth companies. He is also the editor of an insightful,
irreverent weekly investment newsletter. Jim has more than 25 years experience
starting new ventures within large financial institutions. Early in his career,
he served in the Peace Corps in Zaire, an experience that taught him everything
that he needed to know about economics.
Vicki Garcia is the president of Marketing Impressions, a San Diego
public relations, graphic design and advertising firm. She has worked with many
small businesses and has spoken at numerous conferences sponsored by the Small
