Dr. Martha Dennis has been a telecommunications technologist,
entrepreneur and venture capitalist during her 35 year career. She was a
co-founder of Pacific Communications Sciences, Inc. and Waveware
Communications, after heading up software development at Linkabit Corp. She is
a past board president of Commenxus, the telecommunications industry group in San
Diego, and UCSD Athena, which is San Diego’s premier organization for women
technology executives and entrepreneurs. Currently, she serves on the boards of
Harvey Mudd College, the San Diego Foundation, and the San Diego Regional
Chamber of Commerce. She has a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Harvard
University.
Joe M. Davidson, Partner, Allen Matkins is also chair of the firm’s corporate
practice group in the Del Mar Heights office. He has extensive experience in
mergers and acquisitions in the representation of emerging technology companies
in such fields as medical devices, healthcare services, computer software,
consumer products, Internet, e-commerce and telecommunications. In addition, he
has represented venture capital firms and underwriters in both public and
private financings. He graduated from the University of Southern California and
received his J.D. degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
Nancy Marmolejo, the owner of Comadre Coaching is an executive coach focused on
helping Latina entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. For her work, she recently
received the prestigious Anna Maria Memorial Business Fund Award which is
sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank and Latina Style to recognize business and
innovation by Latina entrepreneurs. In 2004, Latina entrepreneurs owned 553,000
businesses, according to the Center for Women’s Business Research, and women of
color—which includes African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians—are starting
businesses at six times the rate of other groups.
